Your Pro Se Guide
Legal Process Support & Workflow Guidance
Facing a legal situation without a lawyer? We'll help you get organized and move forward.
Structured guidance, document organization, and AI-assisted workflow support — without the cost of a traditional attorney.
Not a law firm. No legal advice or representation provided.
You're not alone in this.
Across the United States, millions of people face legal situations every year without the ability to afford an attorney. In many state courts, over 60% of civil cases involve at least one self-represented party, and in areas like family law, that number often rises to 70–80% or more.
These are not rare or unusual situations. They include everyday matters such as divorce, child custody, probate and estate issues, landlord-tenant disputes, small claims, and condo or HOA conflicts.
The reality is simple: people still need help — but not everyone can afford hundreds of dollars per hour for legal representation. As a result, many are left to navigate complex paperwork, court procedures, deadlines, and filings entirely on their own.
That's exactly why this service exists.

We provide structure, organization, and guidance for individuals handling their own legal matters.
Going pro se should not mean going alone.

Frequently asked
Do you provide legal advice?+
No. We do not provide legal advice, legal opinions, legal strategy, or legal representation. All support is procedural, organizational, and educational.
Can you tell me what I should file?+
No. We cannot tell you what to file or what claims or defenses to raise. We can help you organize information and understand publicly available court procedures so you can make your own informed decisions.
Can you prepare court forms?+
We can help you organize the information that goes into forms, but we don't fill out forms for you or decide what to put in them. Filing forms is something you'll handle yourself — we help you prepare the supporting structure so it's easier when you do.
Do you file documents for me?+
No. You remain responsible for filing your own documents with the court.
What happens after I pay?+
You'll receive an email with next steps, intake instructions, and scheduling details. We confirm scope and start the work after the intake review.
What matters may be outside your support scope?+
We may not be able to assist with criminal matters, emergency legal situations, high-conflict custody disputes, complex litigation, corporate litigation, or matters requiring legal representation. If your matter appears to require legal advice or representation, we may recommend that you consult a licensed attorney.
What if my matter is too complex?+
If your situation requires legal advice, representation, or falls outside what we support, we'll let you know and recommend you consult a licensed attorney. Refunds or scope adjustments are handled case-by-case.
What payment methods do you accept?+
We accept major credit cards, debit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and may offer PayPal or Venmo payment options where available.
Built for simpler legal matters where self-representation may be a practical option.
If your situation is well-defined and you're prepared to handle your own case, we can help you get organized and move through it with greater clarity.

About Your Pro Se Guide

Charles Skaar
Founder
Your Pro Se Guide is a service of The Skaar Group, founded by Charles Skaar.
The Skaar Group was founded by Charles Skaar, a former NYC law firm paralegal with over seven years of experience in Trusts and Estates, specializing in case organization, legal research, document preparation, and filings.
His experience gave him a practical understanding of how legal matters are structured behind the scenes. Today, Charles uses that background to help individuals who are representing themselves organize their legal matters, prepare documents, and move through the process with greater clarity.
Charles's approach is personal, structured, and practical. After helping family members through real-world legal challenges — including a divorce matter and a case involving his nephew — he became passionate about helping others who feel overwhelmed by the legal system but cannot always afford traditional legal fees.
Charles Skaar is not an attorney and does not provide legal advice or legal representation.
